I am now selling my latest project, a 1965 CA-78 Dream titled in 66 restored in 2006. I bought the bike on eBay as an incomplete project in Colorado Springs. I completely disassembled it and took my time with each part to make the best bike that I can. I bought many new aftermarket parts so it is not a truly vintage show bike but should work better, last longer and be more reliable on the road than the original. The new parts include: all cables, grips, mirrors, speedometer, headlight (NOS CA-72 with an H4 bulb), wire harness, tires, tubes, wheel strips, battery, chain, exhaust pipes and mufflers, points, condenser, spark plugs, NOS air filter and carb kit as well as assorted hoses and hard wear. I had the custom seat made for the bike. The mirrors and levers are for larger later model Hondas and can support a break light switch on the hand break if one were so inclined. The tank was cleaned and sealed. The frame and assorted tins were sand blasted and primed with an etching primer then taken to the body shop for filling priming and paint. The colors are Mercedes Silver and Honda Element Orange. All the chrome is in good shape except for a small spot of surface rust near the left mirror mount on the handle bar. I tried to get a new handle bar on eBay but had lots of drama with no success. There are a few blemishes on the paint from assembly and a small crack on the right side of the rear fender, but I will have all that fixed with the sale. I have ridden about 100 miles on my first
1/3 tank of gas (1 gallon) and had no problems at all. I believe the bike
is in excellent condition for show or the road the only thing missing is
the lower chain guard. I have many extras including the original seat
frame (painted to match) and chrome surround. All of the old takeoff parts
as well as many unused new parts will be included with the sale. I really
believe that this is one of the best looking bikes on the road and is my
favorite Dream of all time, it tears me up to sell it, but my next project
beckons. The original speedometer shows 6244 so the bike has approximately
6350 original miles on it. With only abut 100 since complete restoration.
The bike is titled and inspected in Texas. All systems work perfectly and
seem to be reliable so you can ride her home. Lots of time and $ invested
asking $4,500 obo. For more photos or info call or email Travis at jayt90@hotmail.com
