It doesn't matter which way you put the springs in, tight coils up or down the springs will react the same.

I thought the Moto Giro formula was a 1950'a 125cc, what Giro allows a 305 scrambler?

That 350/400 4 cylinder engine is heavy and not very powerful, but I have to say it makes a nice looking bike. The frame with the 2 front down tubes doesn't have as much eye appeal as the frame that uses the 4 cylinder engine as a frame member, like this one:
