Check out the Motobatt MB9U ... fit perfect in my 1967 and no worries about ...

Did the previous owner have the bike registered? (the guy you bought it from) That would prove his ownership and then the bill of sale would most likely suffice.

Think not.. the 305 Chain is on the Right side, 150 is on the Left. That alone would mess it up and change everything..

I think it is registered.. Motor #CA77E1028100. Frame is within 36 digits of matching.

Your bike is most likely a 1966 Model Year, possibly a very late 1965. It is definitely not a 1961.

The good news is that the Frame and Motor were paired at the factory.

Well boys,,, it wasn't easy. 2 hours with the DMV Sheriff. He was not going to be concvinced the CA78 on the frame was legit and he was sure the Engine S/N had to match the Vin.... Finally,,, he passed it... WHEW!! I am done buying anything with out of state titles..... crap!!!!!
