The one with the crush ring joining the two is a later style. Your other one fits to a plain header pipe with a rubber o-ring in between.

I have a new in the wrapper OEM muffler for the right side to replace the rusted one. It appears that I must reuse the header pipe, but the method of connecting the two look different - header to muffler.

This project has been delayed far too long, but is now complete. Found a brand new muffler in the OEM plastic that was purchased 30 years ago and needs to be swapped out for the right side unit. I'll fire her up this weekend and take a quick spin before mothballing for winter storage.

Little more progress. Rebuilt petcock and carb. Cleaned up more chrome and soda blasted motor and other areas and they cleaned up nice.

It has another rack that fits behind that one for carrying "cargo", but I've decided to leave that one off for now. The dealer is still in business, but now called Cycles 128 and they ...

As mentioned I would post pics. Progress is slow, but continues. The headlight was bumped a little to hard and the glass broke and they are not easy to find replacements for.
