many thanks for that, & yes, I pulled the clutch, all looked perfect, BUT, it all came out as one lump, I could NOT part the plates, a large flat screwdriver was twisted between them & with a fair bit of force, it all came apart!!
All friction & plain plates were like new, so no real ...

You could easily fabricate a 'solid' head gasket from alloy sheet, i.e. head-bolt holes only, no bores, bolt it all up & then pressurize the cylinders only, bypassing the valve gear.

Maybe a 'discretely' shaped/formed block or bar could be welded to the underside of the legs to lift it up a bit, I did this to another bike & you have to look close to see it.

I think this is very common on this model as its low & easily damaged by dropping off kerbs etc.

Mine was similar, I simply attacked it by hammering with a dolly-block on other side, worked on one side then the other, it soon goes back to original as its a very simple sweep.
