I'm going to pile in with the check the static valve timing and ignition timing crowd, but also, I am not a fan of non standard coils and untested capacitors.
Also, check to make sure your plug wires are secure in the plug caps - this can be a weak link.

As a general principle, the baseline is the gold standard of where to start troubleshooting. Properly charged correct battery. Confirmed good (cleaned) grounds. Bench tested variables like the rectifier and the condenser.

No need to feel bad, maybe this is an opportunity.
I would get the bike sorted and would then ride it as much as possible. You can always be looking for another bike, but you already have this one in your possession.
