cb750 carbs on a cb77

I have a CB77 with those same carbs mounted to the head.
I used my air tool to match the intake in the head to the rubber manifold.
Didn't take long at all.
I also polished the intake while I was at it.
Now if I will ever have time to work on my own bikes I'll put the bike together and see how it runs. ...............sm

I didn't spend alot of time with it last night. The stud spacing in the head is a little bit different but the difference between the i.d. of the spigot and the intake port is huge. A little dremel work is not going to do the trick on this one.

Any help is appreciated. I'll post what I figured out when I get there

Hey LM, When you get the chance to put that sucker together and check it out, how's about giving us some pictures and details? If things go right, I'm working on a motor deal (that doesn't come with carbs and I'm definitely interested in seeing some input in this area. Keep up the good work and I'll catch you later on, Bill

I wonder what other carb possibilities are out there.

I believe someone on this site has successfully used Amals on a CB77.

If I remember correctly, the 28mm ones bolt almost straight on. Lots of options with jets, etc.

As I recall they were about 3 times the cost of origional HONDA carbs when finished. ....................lm

Maybe, but was it 3 times the cost of BRAND NEW original Honda carbs? I doubt a set of brand new Keheins would be much different........ Certainly here in Australia, a pair of new Amals would only be slightly more expensive than new Keheins......

At least buying brand new (regardless of type) you don't have to worry about worn slides, etc.....

I rebuild the HONDA carbs and why would I ever use bad or warn parts. Did 8 sets this year. I shipped a set to a feller that needed them rebuilt yesterday and the total cost including mail was $99.00. YES I do have some NOS ones but they will be sold at a later date. ..................lm

LM, that's fine if you have access to the carbs to rebuild....... And worn carb bodies mean you need to junk the carb anyway, which means less good carbs to rebuild.........

Decent original Keheins aren't that easy to come by (at least down here), and CB750 K0 carbs are worth more than new carbs of any description......

So, what's a bloke to do if he doesn't have a decent set to rebuild, or want's a bigger set for a performance application? He has to find something that will fit, and is readily available, along with the spares.....

I nearly bid on your last set of Carbs on evilbay, BTW....... I have no doubt whatsoever that they're good.
