if you dont already know, Wood Bleach is a great way to clean anything chrome. it will get rid of all surface rust with out having to use anything abrasive. 12oz of wood bleach to 15 gallons of water.

Wood bleach? I did NOT know that! Ha!!! Thank you for that tip. I'll try that on the mufflers when they arrive! Where do you get the stuff?

Sara,
Wood Bleach is oxalic acid. I think most home improvement stores would have it.

It dawned on me a little later today that that might be the case. Thanks, Tom!
It's GOOD to hear from you!!! Happy Holidays!

In the old days it was recommended that you boil up your aluminum parts with Rhubarb leaves which contain oxalic acid. Never tried it..... :-)
Rhubarb crumble though, that's a different thing entirely. Mmmmmm......

Happy Holidays to you too, Sara.
G,
When I was growing up, in my neighborhood, we had all kinds of plants to eat from on the fly. Cherry trees, apple trees, pear trees, black rasperry bushes, grape vines, walnut trees, tomato plants, and the one thing I wouldn't touch, a rhubarb plant. The only kid that would was Rod, and only when he had his salt shaker with him!

no scrubbing or scotch pads or brillo. just soak it in the wood bleach for 24 hours , and rinse with hot water and and a wash clothe then dry. do not use it for aluminum. it will turn it yellow. I find it at Ace Hardware as someone suggested a hardware store above.
