Battery Drain Problem Solved

I figured my battery drain problem would give me an opportunity to improve my electrical skills. I thought I had a switch or wire grounding out and the way to find it was to put my multi meter in series between the positive terminal and the battery cable then plug each circuit in and check for a current draw. My multi meter didn't have an amp setting so I settled for volts. That just gave me stray voltage so I did as Dianne suggested and I bought a meter that had a 10 amp setting. No matter which circuit I tested with my new multi tester, even high beam, I could only get a fraction of an amp draw. Then it dawned on me that maybe my battery was no good. Duh.........

So true. Never ever ever assume any battery is good. I've been made a fool many times by a "good" or "brand new" battery.

These battery's are just great for the price I have one fitted to my CB77 and it has never let me down no matter how many times I press the starter button (well within reason) I know this is EBay UK but you should get them in the good old USA.

Motobatt MB9U has been my go to battery for Super Hawks and late Dreams. To each his own, but I've not used a wet battery in my bikes after affordable AGMs hit the market.

They didn't advertise it as genuine and it was discounted to about half price. It is a very good switch with an easy but positive action. Who ever made it made a very high quality switch. I showed it to by friends at Taylor Honda and they agreed, and they had to look pretty close before they said it wasn't genuine. So, at lease for my purpose, I recommend it.
My spark plug wires are so brittle I've gone on a search for a set of nice used ones. So my start up on is on hold till I find some.
