Also send me a pic of the shift drum so I can see the pointed end in the roller slot. .........lm

Will do, LM. I’m almost done cleaning the lower crankcase and will get to the transmission next. Probably tomorrow.

Thank you, rrekr, I think you might be right about what I'm seeing. My knowledge and understanding of the transmission is limited
at the moment. I've only been into one other. I'll be studying it more today. Right now, I believe that the 1 dog I found in the bottom of the case is from 4th on the primary. I've also found a gear tooth, but I don't see one missing on any of the gears. I suspect that someone else has been into the transmission at some point in its life and has replaced the gear that the stray tooth came from.

Thanks, Geoff. The stand has good and bad points. I might try to come up with a slightly different design someday that engages more than one set of engine mount locations. It really depends on what I decide to do for 305 projects in the future.
