Well I just carried the engine to the basement :) That was fun...said no one ever. I have to deal with stuck/frozen screws on the clutch cover

Yeah. I bought one but have not had much luck with it so far. It was a cheap one from harbor freight

The HF impact you're using probably has Phillips bits. You need to buy a JIS bit set. JIS will fit the fasteners properly and you should get much better purchase whereas the SAE bits you're using cannot make full contact with the fasteners because they're designed to cam out. JIS bits are readily available.
