Folks, question:

The screws I have for the points cover are a mess. I've looked and looked for replacements. The fellas down at the Honda shop have been less than helpful, in fact the counterman didn't know about JIS threads (I know, I know...). Does anyone have a suggestion??

Sarals, are you painting both sides of the fender at the same time? I sprayed the underside of mine first, let it dry and then painted the outside, that way you can put it on a stand and not hang it on a hanger. Iif you get overspray on the underside, no big deal, nobody can see it due to the tire covering it up. And besides, if someone looks that close, shoot them they are to close to your girl. Maybe you could fly down to San Diego and I will paint it for you..

Hi, Tic!

The underside is already painted. Like you, I'd shoot anyone (except another Old Honda Owner) that got THAT close to the Old Girl!

I had just painted the fender and had set it (carefully) on an improvised stand - and it fell off. It dorked up the paint job bad enough to where the easiest and best thing to do is to strip it, prep it, prime it, and do it again. I've got nothing but time, she's already taken over a year!

Thanks for the offer to paint it for me!

It is possible to get JIS screws but it might be simple in the long run to get the holes helicoiled to take a standard ISO metric screw. Helicoil kits are pretty easy to use. I'll have to do that with one of my CB77 cases as the PO managed to jam all sorts of nasty screws in there....

On my way back out to US soon. If you want me to get hold something from this guy I would be happy to.

Graham, thank you! I'm not familiar with the metric sizes...which screws are the points cover screws? If you could, I'd love to have two of them .

When and where will you be here?

They are 5 x 30.

I'll be on the East Coast but might mage it as far as Chicago. Will sent them USPS when I get there in a couple of weeks time.

Will PM you for your shipping address later.
