Is this a gasket in the second picture?
Seems like a hard plastic piece, that won't come off and I am scared to try.
Should I:
1. Slap it back on, lock it down to 15 pounds and forget it.
2. Remove it and use the gasket in the first picture?
3. Leave it on, and put the new gasket on top of it?
4. None of the above.

Reuse it and torque ta 22fp.
Don't remove any parts which are still stuck. ...........lm

Thank you sir!
Will crank it down now, let it sit overnight, check it again, and reinstall in the morning.
Will post pictues of the whole day later tonight or in the morning.
I would not have thought I could even attempt this before, but this forum is an amazing resource.
Hope it goes in as easy as it came out!

It is a DREAM sprocket but it's from my Dream engine, not the bike the original poster is working on. I merely posted a pic of it because of all the talk recently about the neoprene in the advance units on these old bikes. Figured it might be nice to see what the hell all the talk is about. Not enough PICTURES posted in this place!

I don't recommend ya use it in your engine.
It's a small bit not over the entire outside of the part.
If ya can lift it and sort of allow it to snap back and don't hear a metallic sound (sort of a CLUNK) ya are OK. ......lm

I have looked for several hours and can't find the thread with instructions on how to preset the kickstarter before installing the right cover.
I know there is one, with pictures.
Something about lining up the marks on the wheels, etc.
Sorry to ask, but anyone seen it or know what key words might find it?
I have tried a bunch.
