I've had my hands on MANY CB72/77 and never had one with the early issue numbers, CB72-10001-11548, CB77-10001-10248 so never saw that Wire Clip but have seen many with the BAND followed by the Spring sort of part but as I look at the parts book I see some confusion with the parts number as applied to the bike number. What I have had and seen is the early CB's came with a band followed with an spring sort of thing. ............lm

17255-268-000 CB72 - 10001 to 11548 - spring clip?
17255-259-000 CB72 - 11549 to 22097 - flat clip from C72?
17255-268-010 CB72 - 22098 - - coiled wire spring
That seems to make sense......
This is the early type .....
This is the flat clip from the Dream
And the last number is the one we all know and love......
I have frame number CB72- 21329 so those tubes with the flat clips have found a home.......

Thanks Jensen
Magnificent piece of work on that crank.
The crank pins still need heat treatment and finish grinding..... :-)

Yes G-man,
and there will be a day that these techniques will be used to produce crankshafts for our beloved Honda's

I've been thinking about that. It would only be necessary to make three parts; the inner wheel with big end pin, rods and cages. All the other parts are re-usable.

A very early number for sure and I've never seen one that early.
I looked at the pics of your offer and couldn't find the clamp but did see a missing cover on the fork lock. .........................lm
