450 pistons

I used to have a '71 CL 450. I bought it with a holed piston and I had to rebuild the engine. As I recall, and I wouldnt trust my memory all that well, there are 2 styles of pistons. I seem to recall that one style would have inadquate valve clearance with earlier bikes ( or maybe it was the other way around.) There is a 450 list on the internet that I used to belong to but I cant remember the address. Do a search for Honda 450 and it should pop up.
