I look at the pictures you posted and realized we both started with a bike in the same condition. My 62 made a big mess beneath her when I tore her down.I am currently removing rust from parts using electrolysis. If you use this method to remove rust-use the two amp setting...not ten amp.Greener

Believe it or not that mess is not rust it was from a field mouse that took residence up in the air filter box area. I am planning on just having the whole project media blasted and primed after the holidays. This time of year all side projects get put on hold cause of holidays and my kids b-days fall on the holidays so gets tight. I am gonna work on getting everything tore down and evaluated than proceed with restro, as I don't plan on doing a total original restro I am gonna tweak a few things. I plan on going to a solo seat and mounting the side bags a little different. Plus i might change the winkers out. Wish I could find a disk brake mod that wasn't stupid expensive and swap rims out for a more universal size.

What,no wasp nests?I rescued mine from a fence-row that it had been resting against for eighteen years(or so I was told by PO). I had to cut vines as thick as my thumb out of the frame and rims.I also plan to media blast everything after the electrolysis bath.Good hunting for reasonable priced parts.Greener

No, no wasp nests thank god. found almost all of the parts that were missing. only thing I did not find was one of the side covers and the keys as of yet. gonna have to order the keys, may just change the whole lock out for a newer style.

The keys are easy to get if you can read the code on the lock. I found mine on Ebay.

I had the mouse thing too. The little bugger was still in there. A bit mummified, but definitely in there. Ate most of my air cleaner.
