Ok, another good talk with Ed last night--and after going thru his tuning recipe for the tenth time and finally realizing the coil leads that are yellow and green not matching the points leads, I think I finally have this figured out. Had it running for a short stint on ether as I have the tank off and honestly, just wanted to hear this baby fire finally, hence the use of ether. Now to use my small homemade tank of gasoline and get it fired up, carbs set, etc and ride!!
Before and after pics.

Thank you, and you're welcome! Hey, you've set a high bar for me to clear - but I'm trying!
Do you have her running yet?

you will do it, I can tell by the work you do that it won't be a problem for you. Keep picking off small pieces of it and in no time you will have it complete and it will look awesome!!

Well, the bike is FINALLY done. I really put it off this winter but finally wrapped it up this past week. Runs really well and everything works just like it did back when this bike came out.
Thanks to everyone for the advice, instructions, directions, etc--it is much appreciated. And a special thank you to Ed--you took a lot of calls from me and had to calm me down many times!
