I'm joking, but if you said yes, I'd save up over the summer and throw my two bikes in the back of the truck and drive for canada.

C200 Petcock Removal?

Does anyone know how to remove the petcock from a C200 fuel tank?
It seems to be permanently pressed onto the tank.
Any insight or tricks into getting the petcock removed will be a great help.

Freshapple I'm sorry to have taken so long to answer your question. I got called out on a job and was gone for awhile. To answer your question. Remove the fuel bowl under the tank. Then remove the fuel screen and you'll see a screw. Once you remove the screw you'll be able to remove the petcock no problem. I've attached a photo of how it will look.

Kreem is a great product to use if your coating your tank. I use the stuff all the time. Just follow the instructions and it will be perfect. Good luck. Paul

Installed the toaster ends on the gas tank. Folks who have dropped by the shop today really liked the color against the chrome. Another step closer! Paul

Let me start by saying thank you for showing a Honda C200 restoration. Your bike truely is a DREAM.

Where did you get the tank rubbers or toaster ends? I've got a C200 that I've resto-modified with a new Lifan type engine. It's not nearly as nice as yours, but it's running and oh so close to being complete minus a few detail items.

Thanks reynard for your kind comments and welcome to this site. My C200 almost never happened. I purchased a C100 Cub which I restored and is also on this site and with the purchase of the C100 the C200 came with it. I had no intentions of restoring it but a few friends said they would like to see it done so I went ahead and did it.

I tried to document each step in hope that it may help others with there restorations and I've received many great compliments on the bike. As for the toaster ends. They are the original ones that came with the bike. I had them re-plated. I needed one rubber pad so I ended up buying a complete tank off of Ebay. Removed the tank pad and resold the tank. As for it being a DREAM well it's sometimes called the "Baby Dream" but I also did a 1965 Dream that's here on this site as well that you might enjoy looking at. It's a very detailed blog of how I did it.
