Transmission is back together, didn't change anything except the bushing, it's the one that was in it when I originally overhauled it. Appears to be within spec. Kick-start should function normally now.

Cleaned up the needle valves and seat in the carbs. They look good.

Got the bike all together and took it for a 10 mile test run, everything is working right. Off to Lake Tahoe tomorrow (hauling it there) for a 3 day AMCA Road Run, that should be a good test, plenty of mountain twisties and passes. At this point the clutch is the only thing that I'm thinking could be an issue. Also taking the CA77 for backup just in case.

Back from Tahoe, put about 300 miles on it, ran fine, except clutch still will slip. Less likely after some harder running, when oil is hotter, unless it's my imagination. It'll be a while before I get into it, bike rode half the last day on the chase truck, my fault, not the bikes.

Damage to the bike, tank dented both sides, steering stop broken on left, brake pedal bent, brake lever broken, alt cover road rash, twisted forks (something bent, not sure what at this point) front fender folded, front fender bracket bent in a number of places, headlight broken and some denting in the area.

Damage to the rider (me) road rash left elbow, 2 burns near right knee, and the topper, a broken right wrist, looks like it will require surgery, not to mention keep me from riding, or repairing the bike for a while. could have been worse, my full face helmet is pretty scratched up on the left side and face shield damaged and came off. I wasn't going very fast, just too fast for the last corner that had dirt/gravel on it. Didn't help there was an embankment that I hit pretty much head on.

So sorry to hear about your misfortune. Guess it could of been a lot worse. Quite the injury list to the bike as well. It's worth fixing for sure, it's a nice bike.

As has been said, you can fix the bike. Your helmet took care of your noggin, that you can't fix. I'm so glad you were wearing one.

Thanks all for the well wishes! Semi good news, saw my orthopedic surgeon, no surgery required, just in a cast for 3 weeks then a brace. Recovery will be shorter than I anticipated- if all goes well. The bikes healing will take longer, can't really do much without my right hand.
