Headlight Sets

I mounted Big and Little Brothers Headlight Sets Today. It is interesting to work on two such similar but yet different motorcycles at the same time. I think Mr. Honda must of enjoyed making slightly bigger and smaller versions of his motorcycles. So many different models.
I am taking the original front rim to Star Brite Plating in Oregon City tomorrow. I hope the turnaround isn't too long.

Steve, you're making me long for a CB160! You do beautiful work.

Steve
It could have been any of us with your rim / spoke issues. I go for rechromed originals every time. I hate the look of those 'new' rims with the size engrave on the edge.
I like the CB160, too. I've got enough parts to build a nice road bike and a 'big bore' race project. Just need to live until I'm 150....
Could you tell us what pain you're using? I'm very much an old-fashioned amateur, using lots of coats of primer etc....

Thank You G Man
I am humbled by the patience and knowledge of the people on the forum. I wanted that rim to fit so bad I was having a hard time hearing what people were trying to tell me I will try not to be such a difficult student in the future.
Here is a pic of my paint equipment. I don't machine buff the motorcycle pieces, just my car projects.

I've been using Duplicolor Paint Shop System Lacquer in Quarts. It's pre thinned so you aren't getting as much paint but it's cheap and available. I like lacquer because I don't have to keep track of application windows. I spray it wetter than I should but for me it lays down better that way. The main problem is I often get runs and then I have to wait for it to dry and sand out the run. If it sands out okay I wets and buff it and spray clear coat.

Here's another Rim for you to look at for me

Hi Everyone
I took my original rim to Star Brite today and the owner of the shop told me it was too rusted to replate. I came home and looked at my extra rims. I thought they were all CB160's. When I did the spoke alignment check this one seemed to line up with my CB77 rim pretty well. When I trued it up, there was no creaking or binding of the spokes. Here is a pic of my CB77 rim and the unknown rim. First, the straight on pic.

Brake Panel Cleaning
I haven't bought an ultrasonic cleaner yet so I cleaned the brake backing plates with warm soapy water, simple green and a stiff brush. I buffed the outside to match the hubs.
