CA77 odd serial
CA77 odd serial
Hi all, I recently acquired a dream frame, the serial number is ca77-380xxx on the lower left of the frame. From what I can find the highest numbers for ca77s only began with 31xxxx on 63 models? Is this not correct, or has anyone come across a higher stamped frame? I'm new too dreams and would like too find more info on this bike if possible.

Re: CA77 odd serial
Bill Silver (a recognised expert on Honda Dreams) seems to agree with you in his documentation that I have. He lists the highest CA77 frame serial number as 314731 from 1963. From there they appear to change to the CA78 format.

Re: CA77 odd serial
Ok, thats good too know, so no CA77 goes that high and the CA78s from what I have researched so far, start back at 100001. I haven't found any serial number for models that span the 380xxx range so far. Could this be a stamping error or am i missing something?
Re: CA77
Ok, spoke with Bill Silver a few days ago, apparently the stamping is correct. The 8 identifies it as a cs77, or the American market sport model (csa77). Kinda cool, I guess. With that in mind, I'm suspecting the high exhausts are very hard, too near impossible to find.
