Note: for what it's worth, the 'new' coil is only showing 1.8 ohms at the inputs, where the wires go Into the coil...the OEM one shows 4.5 - but in either case, according to the video, I have no output... I'm no coil expert but 1.8 sounds low. I would try the original again unless someone else think...

Didn't this bike run before the EI conversion? If so I would question the time setting methodology. Maybe the wiring configuration needs to be looked at again too.

You should be getting 12V in respect to chassis ground at the + terminal of the coil when the key switch is in the run position.

Just a thought, make sure that the points assembly is not close enough to the cover etc. to arc. I guess one way to help prove that is run without the points cover on to check it. That is if you don't have a fuel leak!

This is the advise I got from the seller: "some customers with the shallow points covers have rotated the pick ups 180 degrees to position pick ups in the deep section of cover...." I wish he would have stated that on the auction before I mildly sweated it out. No comment on the screw protrusion. I ...

Franky, Before you go further, I would install the new assembly and check to see if the points cover will go back on. I got my recently purchased system all set up and discovered two things. One, the pickup screws protruded through the back of the plate. The plate won't seat flat unless I Dremel the...
