need choke on to run??
I need to have the choke up pretty far to keep my 305 running when cold - nothing new there but after warming and I put the choke down the engin wants to die off at 0-3/4 throttle. good response at 3/4 throttle and up. bored enging 1965 0r 66 CL77 (1mm overbore) do I need to use larger pilot jets. Mains are now145's. Existing pilots are stamped 38mm and I was thinking 45mm. ??

I hope it isn't the omisson of the little green o rings that sit between the cylendars and the head at two of the head tensioning rods. these two rods or the passage upward around them convey oil from the block to the upper head for cams an valve lubricaion. The little o rings keep oil from escaping...

after 1mm overbore on my 66 CL77, I used a larger size main jet in the 26mm Keihin carbs. Should I also increase the size of the pilot (idle) jets?? The Keihin pilot jets are described on a few web sites as "21 series" and "22 series" If larger pilot jets are a good idea what "series" is appropriate...

just FYI, the knock pins are crucial. They not only locate the head BUT serve as seating sights for the two little rubber o-rings that seal these two critical oil passages,... i.e. oil from the bottom end to the rockers and cams. best of luck.

oops, forgot to mention I am not usng stock air filtes/hoses but instead have those cheap Emgo pods on there now. Are these just junk with too much air intake (not enough restriction)?
