Re: Clutch friction plates - sources

Since my last post has not disappeared, I reckon it's safe to continue . . . . . . so having gone back to basics and consulted the shop manual (something I should have done at the outset) I've found that my clutch isn't the same as the set up in the book. I've only got five friction plates in my pac...

Re: Clutch friction plates - sources

This is all getting a bit strange. I put a PM in a couple of days back and it's still sitting in the outbox. So I put a post on here to make sure you didn't think I was ignoring you and that post seems to have disappeared as well. I've got some more information but before I add it I'll see if this p...

Re: Clutch friction plates - sources

Hey DJM

Tried to PM you a couple of times and they just sit in the outbox.

E-mailed you on Sunday instead - let me know if that didn't make it through.

Cheers

Re: Clutch friction plates - sources

Back after a long break. Couldn't test the XL plates for . . . reasons. Next question - is there any significant difference between the 'early' '77 clutch/plates and the 'late' clutch/plates? I can get hold of some that fit the former, but my bike is the latter. Can't imagine the design changed so m...

Re: CA77 - tool tray sizes and battery recommendations

Hey Dennis Hope you're well. Thanks - the e-mail address is for Tootie DeMarco, isn't it. That's been listed here and on the 'twins forum a few times, but he seems to have been very quiet recently. I've seen his site and had a look at some of his stuff but all he was really offering was a plastic bo...

CA77 - tool tray sizes and battery recommendations

How do. It's been a while . . . Finally managed to get the CA77 to fire after a complete stip down/rebuild, and everything's looking promising. Got almost all of the hard-to-find tinware bits from various places, and I'm trying to put the finishing odds and sods together. During the build, I bought ...

Ah - now that's one theory I can test. I'm in the process of rebuilding an XL350 K0 and I've just had a set of plates come in. I'll give them a try and report back . . .

P.S. Thanks for the e-mail DM - that's very kind. I'll get back to you very soon.
