Like I said the cork gasket may need time to swell up after soaking in gasoline. I had rebuilt my petcock in the fall using the cork gasket, it was fine. The next spring it leaked like a sieve when I first turned it on. I didn't realize then that the cork had dried up and shrunk down. I kept trying ...

They are tricky buggers. Everything has to be put together perfectly. Had mine apart five times until I got it right. Are you sure you have all of the parts? Do you have the four blade part that goes on top of the petcock? I also found the cork will swell if you soak it in gas before installing it. ...

Wouldn't you only need one left side badge? If you had two left side badges you would still have the same problem.
