Re: new guy here with some questions

Sorry. I am new ot the forum too so the last post was a response to a much earlier thread. Re the 1157 bulbs, I have had a lot of problems with pattern bulbs that are somewhat larger than ge or honda 1157 bulbs. Some of them (chineseium) are too tight in the bulb housing and I have just been finding...

Re: new guy here with some questions

As an alternative idea, I have had success using the original coil and grafting a new pair of wires to it with in line spark plug wire splices. I have used them with several original honda coils and have never had a problem. If originality is the point these can usually be located within the frame.

CA77 Speedometer

Any repairable condition. Would prefer good face since it is going on an original paint survivor with light patina. Thanks in advance.

Re: speedometer, new to ca77

Thanks for the reply. I had heard that but have been unable to locate it.

Re sidestand, I bought mine years ago (maybe 20) at mid ohio. If I remember right it was from Tim Mcdowell. Did not realize it was only supplied on police bikes. Fittingly, my cb77 is a white one.

Re: a couple novice questions

Superhawk side stands were optional and are bolt on. When I got my Superhawk, I bought one and installed it. Re throttle cables, I don't really remember but check the parts book. You can see it on the CMSNL web site which is a good place for parts but unfortunately a little inconsistent. The parts b...

speedometer, new to ca77

Hi all, I have owned various honda's over the years including a CB77 but recently recommissioned a CA78 dream after a less than sympathetic 15yr slumber. As found the bike with about 17Kmiles showing was resting on its right side in the dirt floor of a shed. The right exhaust was mostly buried. I ha...

Success in freeing a seized superhawk.

Last fall I put a cb77 on hte road that was last registered in 1967 and had rust completely though the entire bottom on the tank. It was seized, probably badly. I put a dropper full of kroil in each cylinder about once a week for about 6 weeks. After a few weeks, I bumped the engine with the rear wh...
