Ed, I'm just a feller who likes to tinker with and ride around on these old Hondas. This is just a hobby for me and probably for most others on this forum as well. I sure didn't mean to cause anyone's blood pressure to spike with my apparently inappropriate question, I simply didn't know the answer....

I do appreciate the replies. This is my first tear down of a twin cylinder engine, my experience has been limited to singles, generally smaller two strokes, and a TL125. The reason for the strip of this 175 twin is to fix damage from sitting in a barn for decades with one intake valve open, humidity...

Question about pistons/bores
Do Honda twins need to have pistons replaced in matched pairs? Can a "std" piston/bore live next to a +.25 or even .50 oversize piston? Patient on the bench is only a 175, but I figure this board gets lots more looks than the "other twins" page.

I got 'cha. I talked with another Giro veteran who let me in on his strategy- get a late number, have fun riding the road sections "with vigor", then yack it up waiting for your check in minute. The old dirt bike enduro rules penalized you heavily if you arrived early at a check, and of course, ther...

Harbor Freight lift table
Searched around for a Handy lift table for ages, never found one that made sense...so I picked up one of Harbor Freight $299. tables a couple of weeks ago. Set up was quick, for some reason they ship with very little hydraulic oil so it was necessary to fill, but after that- a pleasure. It's just a ...

Sounds good, Peter. Any words of advise regarding "control center" set up? I'm an old ECEA enduro rider, I know how to keep time the old fashioned way with a route sheet, odo, and clock, I assume that's all legal equip for a Moto Giro? I'm aware the special sections cannot be ridden with a count dow...
