Joel, think of it this way, if the engine is fully warmed up and running good at idle, what happens when you put the choke on? It dies, right? Why it dies is because you cut off its air. So if yours runs at idle the best only when choke is full on, it must be getting its' air from somewhere else, ie...

Another thought, did you run through all or most of that fuel with the bike sitting still? Remember these are air cooled and either run a fan on the engine or get it out and in some air so you don't over heat the thing a bunch. jwb

Are your o-rings between carb and spacer and carb spacer and head in good shape, (round and soft, not hard and flat). It sounds like you have an air leak, I'm not real crazy about your high temp silicone idea, it may have worked temporarily but o-rings are what the design calls for. What do you thin...
