I don't have the shocks in front of me, but could it be possible to thread the top of the shock and put a cap there for them? Could even toss the old seal underneith the screw down cap. ??? Well, Been trying them on a Honda Shadow VT500c 1984. There's a Baffle in the damned tank! I can't get the left side to lay in the tank properly. Plus getting past that baffle. GRRRR!!!
