I'm not sure what color you have but have you considered having it powder coated? The only problem I would see is if the tank has a significant amount of bondo. Blasting takes a tremendous amount of air. A 20 gal compressor might be good for tire inflation and powering a paint sprayer but for blasting you are going to need more air. I just recently had the side covers for my Dream re-chromed. Price was $80 each but they look fabulous. They had a little rust and minor pitting but that would be removed in the plating process.
