Hi jlee, The clutch push rod oil seal is prone to popping out if crank case pressure is too high. I had one come out whilst riding up the M6 to collect parts from Bill Heads many years ago when a piston ring broke up. Not a nice experience and a long push back to the Wirral. Suggest you check the en...

Many thanks for the comprehensive reply G-man. I have of course read your very informative posts on crank rebuilding and oil pathways through these engines. I accept that the drive side ball race is open to both the crank case and the primary drive case though the bearing is above the oil level in t...

Apologies for jumping in on your thread Dave but I'm worried by G-man's post as like you I've just rebuilt an engine using a ball race on the alternator side as the bearing surface on my crank originally fitted with the roller bearing was breaking up. I was able to obtain one of the Honda ball races...

Hi all, In answer to G-man's comment Dave Silver has the swing arm shock bushes listed as part no. 40548_268_000 for both the CB77 and CB400F. My understanding is that these bushes were common to a number of different models. I have had sets of these from Dave and can confirm that they fit the CB77 ...

On the road again

Thanks for the further information and links Seadog. The demonstration videos are quite convincing about its value in covering blind spots and highlighting vehicles alongside. Although it seems best suited for high rise bars or clip ones I think it would work with my low bars. I would agree with the...

On the road again

Wow, that certainly gives a great wide angle view. I haven't seen anything like that before, do you have any other pictures? I too would be interested in how your 'lifesaver' would be mounted on a bike, might save a bit of neck ache.

Hi Seadog,
Over here a 'lifesaver' is the term for looking around over your shoulder before giving a signal or making a turn or other manouevre. It allows you to see make sure the road is clear and that some idiot isn't going to plough into you and it can therefore literally 'save your life'.
