The CB77 spec is
Inner spring length 37.54 mm
Outer spring length 43.36 mm
You mentioned installed length but that will indicate nothing about the condition of the spring. The above lengths are free lengths. I believe that the specs are identical with the CL77.

I've rebuilt a few CB77 relays but have no experience with CA77s but I suspect they are either similar or identical. Here are a few comments.

I bought some connectors a couple of years ago. For very little (< $20 CDN) I got a nice plastic tray containing an assortment of 3.5mm & 4.0mm, male & female along with with some double and triple female connectors. It also came with a remarkably good crimping tool.

A couple of things come to mind.
Is there any chance that the BSA rectifier is positive ground? Unfortunately I'm not quite sure what the effect would be but I suspect it would either burn out the rectifier or let some smoke out of the wires.
Could the stator have more windings after its rewinding ...
