Re: Removing Rear Shocks on A 65 Dream Touring

If you mean a piston ring compressor, I can't see how that would help. Just looking at the shock I think that the chromed cover sits under the aluminum casting. You would need to take the spring pressure off the casting in order to unscrew it from the centre rod and you would do this by pulling down ...

Re: Removing Rear Shocks on A 65 Dream Touring

Original shocks can be hard to find and are almost certainly worn out. Yours aren't bad looking though and if they work, well you have something to ride.

Good luck with disassembling them.

Re: Removing Rear Shocks on A 65 Dream Touring

Most people end up making a compressor. Here's one that will give you an idea of what works.

The original shocks should look something like the one in the picture. I don't think any Dream came with external ...

Re: cam bearing clearance

I've never really thought about this although I normally replace them if they are old or their age is unknown. The parts book just calls for 6004 bearings, which implies CN, so that's what I have used and I have never had a problem.

I found some guidance here:

Re: CB77 breather hoses

Actually, I got it wrong. They were supposed to lower the pressure and reduce the oil getting into the valve guides. There was also something to do with the also discontinued power jet in the carbs. Have a look at the carburetor, air filter and cylinder pages in these.

Re: CB77 breather hoses

The story I have heard is that they attached to the air filters with the intent of drawing oil into the valve guides. Original air filters have the connectors but newer ones don't so it seems that Honda thought them unnecessary. I have some little rubber caps over mine but there seems to be no harm ...

Re: Float bowl drain screw CB77

Normally they are part of a carb kit although not necessarily. I just did a quick search for "honda cb77 carb kit" and this came up and it appears to have them.

There were lots of others too. I'd give anyone selling ...
