These engines will run when you can get them hot and have several tuning area's wrong. It doesn't hurt to check everything and compare things side to side. You say that it is only one cylinder that is troublesome so you are looking for differences in ignition timing, tappet clearance, carburation. The 'cold start' system is just a choke on each cylinder. The two chokes are connected ...

Hi G Thanks for the reply, because the bike runs well when hot I thought the timing and carb settings must be ok maybe something to do with cold start part of the carb, the choke works ok and there is no back fire when hot .

Starting Problem

Hi all from the UK, bought my CL77 (1967) back end of last year, has been restored but there is a problem starting from cold, when I can get it started it is only on one pot the other coming in when I play with the choke, it also back fires on that side when trying to start it , when its hot it star...
