Thanks to all for your great responses and thanks to Seadog for the pic. I definitely don't have that pigtail for the horn. I searched all over in the frame and under the tank and behind the horn mount but someone has removed it and then taped up the wire harness with electrical tape. Who knows why ...

Bob, the wiring for the horn is in the wiring harness. two wires should be hanging down in the area of the horn for connection. Wiring for the switch should be within the handlebar and connected to the main harness in the headlight bucket. Has that been cut out? The wire from the horn button is the...

If you go back and read this thread - http://www.honda305.com/forums/ca77-lamp-conversion-t5820.html - and take a look at the photo posted by joeweir1 back in 2006 it appears that he just high temp RTV'd the bulb in place without any additional holder. Ca77 Dream Headlight
Thanks for the link to the earlier post. I found a couple of 35 watt halogen #48220 bulbs and holders on Amazon. It looks like they make a nice installation and don't draw too much power. Now I'll just have to figure out which tabs are high and low beams and which is ground.
