I guess I am not 100% sure that it isn't something else, but the registration on the studs would not align it accurately enough to insure that it is exactly lined up on both bores. I pulled the headup a few inches and double checked everything (its a cl77). I doubled checked the valve clearance and ...

Sudco/Veserah Head gaskets too small?

I just purchased Sudco/Veserah complete gasket kit for the CB77. I was doing a cylinder piston and swap using new 1.0 pistons and freshly bored cylinders. JIS screws

Does anyone have a source, or at least more information about the pre 67 screws etc. Do any of the sizes match up with the standard metric screws? The 5mm onces certainly don't. I'm thinking about purchasing a 1963 cb77, but I don't want to get something I can't get screws for. Thanks

Re: Cam shaft installation

Set the oven on 200 F and let the head heat up, put oil on the bearing bores and the cam shaft assemblies slid right in by hand. Both side covers were installed. The cam was a little tight after the head cooled, but some light tapping on the races and everything seems cherry pie.

Greg

Cam shaft installation

There must be a better way to install the cam shafts than pounding on the outer bearing races. The manual I have suggests this is the way to do it, but I have never had good luck hammering on bearings. The head is awkward, but I guess I could fixture it up in a press.

The guy at the machi...
