It happens on occasion, on other bikes as well as the 305. Just try turning the fuel off, rev her up a few times. When it stops turn the fuel back on and away. The vibration from the motor seems to settle the needle valve on its seat.
Happened a few times on my completeley refurbed carbs. AOK now.

Quite so. I'm not an electrician so quoting Lamberts, "All three phases must work in unison for full output to be achieved". They aren't in the original scheme of things so only put out a much lower voltage. When they are, as with mine, 14.5volts shows on the meter without reving, should the battery...

Ignition timing

Yo, Finally got the cb77 really chiming. Pulled the plugs after a good blast yesterday, one was as white as a virgins thigh the other like a dusky maidens. Everything is new, coils, condensers, leads points, all new jets and needles and the carbs are sympathised to the nth degree. The only variable ...

Coils

My apologies for late reply and my thanks for your replies guys. In the end purchased a pair of pattern coils from the Green Spark Plug Co. and I'm very pleased to say that she doesn't drop her head now. Just returned from a week in the Derbyshire dales ripping it up. Snake pass, the Cat and fiddle ...
