305 fuel survey

I have been using premium deoxygenated gas in my two CL77's. After
reading somewhere about these engines being fully capable of running
on unleaded regular, I tryed it. There was no noticable difference,
although I did not measure gas mileage or anything else to test for
differences.

Any one heading west from Detroit?

If anyone can haul a 305 Superhawk from Dearborn/Detroit area to
anywhere in Minnesota or Wisconsin I would be glad to make a $150
contribution to your gas bill. I'm hoping to get this done sometime
this summer or fall. Thanks...

Ruining plugs in 10 minutes

I had this same thing happen to me on both a Step thru-90 and on a 305. In both cases, the problem ceased as soon as I backed the tappets off 1/2 to 1full turn. I had previously set the valve clearances on both these motors meticulously to the spec. I had those little orange boxes all over my garage.
