It seems very odd that a bolt should snap off like that, especially as you were not applying any torque to it at the time, something I've never heard of before. A bit late with the reply but this sounds like the screw that holds the lighting switch knob onto the spindle of the switch.

Look after it as it's a 'hard to find' item.

On the CB models there is a green earth wire from the back of the speedo case onto a tag on the headlight rim which itself is grounded. You will also pick up decent grounding through the speedo cable itself once you have it fitted.

Reading your previous post, if you really never take the bike above 4k or 50mph I think you're wasting your $$$ uprating the stock ignition system to the Sachse system or anything else either. Better to look for a set of serviceable original carbs or try a set of the Mikunis or MOLKT ones which seem...
