Re: engine builder/assembler needed in west michigan

Buy a few manuals and have a go yourself, They are easy engines to work on and all the help you'll need is available on this list, either look through the old posts or just ask a question. I don't think you'll have a problem that nobody's had before.

Re: 1954 Honda dream 4e

Of course it's a runner, it's a Honda isn't it!

What a great bike to have in your collection, one advantage of a bike that old is that if it isn't QUITE 100% right nobody will be nit picking like they do with the more modern / popular stuff.

Dwell Angle anyone?

Among the stuff in my cupboard which I never use (and never have) is a Dwell Angle meter. I'm told by those who know about these things that setting points using a dwell meter is 'far more accurate' than using feeler gauges to check the points gap. I'm happy to accept this and give it a try but does...

Re: CA77 Stator coil burning

I've never worked on a C/CA engine but I doubt it vey much. You certainly couldn't do it on a CB or CL engine but the alternator cover on those is smaller than the C/CA cover. The stator windings are mounted on an aluminium base casting but almost always you would want to leave the two bolted togeth...

Re: Won't start after carb rebuild

Best thing is to set the carb to stock setting first, it may not be perfect that way but at least it should start on stock settings. If it still doesn't start and as the bike has been standing through the winter it may be nothing more that stale fuel. Drain the float bowl and put in some clean new g...
