Wow it just continues! Pulled the point cover off to clean and check point gap. Rolled it up to right top (right piston @ TDC). The line on the point cam is not 90 degrees to the top of the head. The mechanical advance is operational. So now it looks like the cam is a tooth or two off.

You'll also see the headlight ears are different they are also dimpled for the turnsignals.

The POS (Poor Old Sickle :) got parts thrown at it today. The kickstart gears were missing from the side cover, that's fixed. I decided to go ahead and put an electric starter back on too. It now starts to get interesting. No starter sprocket behind the rotor, removed the rotor and and find a CL cra...

The one my friend has was purchased from the original owner, a serviceman stationed in Japan who shipped it home to the US. The Kph speedo was replaced with a MPH speedo after arriving home. It's titled as a 1967.

It's a domestic model. Does it still have the kph speedo? Most here have been changed. I have a friend that also has one, it's been awhile since I've seen it. Seems to me it has a heel/toe shifter and because of the turn signals I seem to remember a small adjusting screw at the bottom of the headlig...

'62 CL72 Carbs??

I was going through parts I had bought quite awhile ago and found these round bowl PW22's without a power valve circuit. They were attached to a CL head with the early style tappet covers. My '63 CL72 has square bowl carbs, ya think these are from a '62??? Dick Johnson '61 CB72, '63 type2 domestic C...

My '61 CB72

Bought this POS 7 yrs ago and just brought it out of storage. It rolls through with compression so it should run, we'll find out shortly. Tank had a gallon of foul smelling bad gas from probably 30+ yrs ago and I must have dumped out 2lbs of rust. If it runs out okay maybe it should be my new "ratbi...
