Crank bearing

Ordered a new crank left side ball bearing for my CA77 ser #102241 a while back. Honda part # 91001-259-010. When I went to fit it today it was too small. The OD of the old bearing is 77mm with a 30mm ID and 19mm wide. The new bearing is only 75mm OD with the other dim's being the same. Online I can...

How right you are. Figured it had to be simpler than my explanation. But remember I didn't have the key. When I went to one of my other bikes, also without a key for the steering, I saw the cover that pivots over the assembly. I said to myself, self I wonder if that is what retains the assembly in? ...

Steering lock revisited

Joeweir1 came across with an input which seemed plausable, but since I already had my stem out his idea didn't float. Thank you anyway for the input! So I scratched my head and t...

Steering lock

How do you remove the steering stem lock cylinder from the frame of a CA77? I plan on dipping the frame, etc. and don't want to leave the cylinder in place.

Thanks LM! Warmed the cylinder casting with the torch and one liner came out with a tap, rewarmed the other side and it slid out on its own. Casting bore looks clean after a little 3M pad cleaning. One liner lip was cracked, probably from beating on froze piston. Liner looks just like cast iron!!! I...

Swapping liners

My cylinder liners in an "early" CA77 are shot. Already bored to S3 and pitted beyond S4. I have purchased new S2 pistons and rings for the bike but have been held back by $400 for new liners installed. On Ebay I can get a used cylinder with fair liners installed. The S/N shows to be a "late" versio...
