brit, you make an interesting point that I too have considered with my CL (a 66 small hub.) It also has the extra wires for the winkers and I have considered removing them from the loom since I will not be adding winkers to my scrambler while I own it. The question is do I hurt the value of the bike...

My opinion is use the original if your going for show, any viewer will overlook a flaw knowing the age of the bike. If it is a daily rider you do what your comfortable with, no pun intended.

I think mike69 has hit the button. Due to riding my CL more than the CA mine has done the same thing. So if the battery is good put it on a trickle charger and leave it overnight.
