Re: where does this set screw go?A bit late with the reply but this sounds like the screw that holds the lighting switch knob onto the spindle of the switch.
Look after it as it's a 'hard to find' item.
Re: how does the speedo go to ground?On the CB models there is a green earth wire from the back of the speedo case onto a tag on the headlight rim which itself is grounded. You will also pick up decent grounding through the speedo cable itself once you have it fitted.
