Ran fine for a year fine, then kicker went out. Tore it down, replaced kicker, used same bottom end, etc. Put on 175 jugs and pistons, same head and cam (cleaned up). Happy New Year everyone. The chirping 160 is still singing. Here is the video: http://youtu.be/yoQjHboSRyk I have adjusted the cam chain tensioner, and the pipes, and used a scope to listen all around the bike. I cannot tell where this chirp lives! I did confirm one thing - it chirps when the kicker...

I have not tried swapping parts. I have been chasing this problem since I got the bike and have never found the issue.

Top reasons a carb runs best with air screw closed?

Here is a stumper, My left carb on my cb77 runs best with the air screw all the way closed, and still has a white plug. At more than 1/2 turn out, it stops firing at idle. Right carb is at 1.5 turns and a brown plug. Have checked the insulator for cracks, sprayed WD40, checked my carb caps, etc. I t...

Thanks. I will try that. Ad tighten the pipes generally too.

I did the cam adjustment when I assembled the top end. It's a new cam chain, so maybe it needs an adjustment now that its broken in.
