These numbers are different than the ones I found at CMSNL. According to these numbers, my bike CP77-E 1003166, falls in the "These Machines whitch discontinued the year of manufacture are as follows" category (whatever that means) Thanks for posting this. Loud Mouse, it's good to see you are still on here. You walked me through a carb issue I was having years ago on a CA77. I just went out and looked at the CP and it has a points cover that reads "type 1" so, I'll have to count the coils a little later. On a side note, I also noticed a greese nipple ...

I found a list of VINs on CMSNL that included CP77 numbers. Turns out mine is actually a 1964 and it's a "type 2" whatever that means.
