different gas tanks

Post by Mike Mullins » Wed May 27, 2009 9:39 pm

I have 3 gas tanks from the 4 CB 77's of various ('61, 65,66 and 67) year, and they indicate 2 different styles. 2 of the tanks have fittings on the left side for a crossover tube. the one on the '67 does not. I have no indication that the '67 tank is not original, and every indication that the other two are NOT original. Otherwise the tanks look identical to all intents and purposes. Can anyone give the the lowdown on the tanks and what years had crossover and what did not ? Also the pectocks also must have had a fitting for the crossover to hook into, correct ?

Mike,

On my 66 CB77 the crossover hose connects to a fitting on the petcock.

SOMETIME IN 1967 (CB77-1052488) HONDA DISCONTINUED THE CROSSOVER SYSTEM. THE CL77 WAS (CL77-1043098) SOMETIME IN 1967. .............................lm
