CA 77 Carb Adjust Question

Post by brewsky » Mon Nov 16, 2009 7:11 pm

Finally found some OEM jets, so I can sort out my rich(low), lean(mid), and rich(top end) issues.

First got a Keyster kit, but the jets were too big, so I tracked down some Honda jets.

Decided to try changing the float valve assy to the new one supplied in the kit, and found that the float height changed from the originally set 22.5mm to 26mm without adjusting the tang on the float!

Also, the Keyster float seat has a smaller diameter (stamped 2.0, instead of 2.5 on the orig Keihn), and the Keyster float valve itself, even though it has the same dimensions, has a much stronger spring inside.

The original float valve assy seems ok, but it has 14,000 miles.

Any comments or suggestions welcomed.
