fuel system

Post by vwfern » Sat Dec 05, 2009 8:04 pm

ok, please take it easy on me. I'm new to Honda Dreams. I took my gas tank off to clean it and replace the fuel lines. Now I can't remember how/where the fuel lines go on. The tank has two fuel ports, the petcock has one but the carb only has two. Can any one remind me how and where the fuel lines go?

Thanks.

If it is like my dream,

Left side of tank should connect to the petcock on the side port. This allow gas from the other side of the tank to get to the pectcock.

The down port on the pectcock should go to the carb float input.

The port on the bottom of the float bowl is an overflow and can or cannot have a drain line on it. My dream as a short line on the overflow going down and to the rear of the engine. some say that this line can/will cause problems and your better off with out it.

hope this helps..

Thanks. The petcock on my tank only has one port. The tank has two ports and the carb has one port not counting the drain on the float bowl.

Connect the two tank ports together. Connect the petcock to the carb.
