I don't know if that was the way The Factory intended, but it certainly seemed to be the most natural route that the cable leaned towards, Lee.

I've seen both routes (yours and mine), in images. Sometimes we're so over-obsessed with "how Honda did it" stuff that we miss a 'sometimes-better option' perspective that works well on a non-concours machine.

Here's my post from back when I was doing it:

http://www.honda305.com/forums/viewtopi ... le+routing

Concludes as many of my posts did back then by saying basically I don't care how factory intended it to be, or how it was before I took it apart, lm's way is better. Never doubted that, he's always right. Purpose of my post was to pass along hopefully useful information to fellow 305'ers.

Thanks to E3steve and Jleewebb!

My shorter throttle cable, correctly routed, is now performing flawlessly. I think I'm on the home stretch with the Costa Rican burocracy, and might possibly have legal plates in 2 or 3 weeks. Thanks again!

That ground strap is on the condensor mounting bolt.

ground strap

here it is...sanded off paint on bracket and frame at attachment points, used a dab of dielectric grease to assure a good ground.

note the incorrect throttle cable routing.
