Forget Kreem and forget POR-15. This is betterForget Kreem and forget POR-15. This is betterHi I have used this stuff on a lot of fuel tanks and just used it on my 305 tank today. It's not cheap but it's great stuff. I have never seen it peel off and it's really strait forward as far as application goes. Just pour some in, tilt and turn the tank. You don't need to coat the whole interior either. Probably shouldn't use ethanol with it though (as usual).
http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/appages/bunan.php MT state law states that all premium gas must be ethanol free and a lot of stations are moving back to ethanol free in the lower grade fuels. Sorry I guess I didn't know what fuel is like elsewhere. As far as capabilities go, it can be used with all fuels including auto gas. But the airplanes that are certified to run auto gas require it to be ethanol free, so I'm just guessing that it might not be compatible with ethanol? So this may help some and not others. I'll look for some more info on it.
Jethro That's interesting how your state requires premium to be ethanol free. Wonder why some stations are going back to pure gas for lower grades. Maybe it's cheaper.
I do not believe it is law in NY as it is in MA. Last year there was a brand of gas in Buffalo that still only sold pure gas. I think the refinery was actually in Buffalo. Could be wrong about that. I did a bunch of research on tank sealers a few years ago. Actually found an aircraft sealer that was credited with at least one plane crash due to additives in the fuel attacking the sealant and it in turn plugging the fuel lines. Plane ran out of fuel with full tanks. regards, Rob So I got some more info here. http://www.ppg.com/coatings/aerospace/s ... _1005L.pdf
Like I said, it's not cheap but you can do quite a few tanks on just one half-pint can and it is worth it IMO. Sad story about those guys. I've heard of that happening more than once but mostly with a product called pro-seal. I guess it all comes back to following specific instructions for a paricular product. Jetho
